The ethnic groups had a separate state. Which is located in Rajanagar union of Rangunia upazila of present Chittagong district. Since 1757, Chakma dynasties like Shukdev Roy, Sher Daulat Khan, Janbox Khan, Tobar Khan, Jabbar Khan, Dharam Box Khan, Rani Kalindi, Harishchandra Roy and others have ruled in this region. In 164, Chakma king Harishchandra shifted the capital from Rajanagar in Rangunia to Rangamati. However, no information has been found as to who is the founder of this dynasty.
