Khwaja Usman Gani, the then Subedar of Bengal, built this fort during the reign of Emperor Aurangzeb. He built a mosque and dug a pond with this fort. Later Subedar Chand Rai dug another pond with this fort and built a temple. The ruins of mosques, temples and forts are still present. Two ponds have been filled and now crops are being cultivated.
