Mainamati War Cemetery/Visit Bangladesh

 

Mainamati War Cemetery is a Commonwealth War Cemetery in Comilla, Bangladesh. Nine war cemeteries have been set up in Myanmar (then Burma), Assam, and Bangladesh to commemorate the 45,000 Commonwealth soldiers killed in the war in Burma during World War II. There are two Commonwealth War Cemeteries in Bangladesh, one in Comilla and the other in Chittagong.

Tare 637 graves in the cemetery. Most of these graves are of the dead soldiers of the hospital at that time. Moreover, some bodies were transferred from different places after the war and buried here. According to the force, there are 3 sailors, 56 soldiers and 18 pilots. A total of 623 people were identified.
